The Triumphs | Sacred Sword FCBD®️ Style Movement Dialect

A journey into the symbolic power of the Major Arcana of the Tarot — the Triumphs. Melody Bustillos’ FCBD® Sacred Sword dialect will be the foundation and bodily language of this piece, transforming every movement into a living archetype. Justice, the Emperor, Death, the Devil… each card will become a choreographic and visual inspiration, evoking powerful imagery embodied by the dancers and their swords. The performance, the music, the costuming, and the entire stage setup will be conceived as an homage to the Triumphs, creating a bridge between esoteric tradition and the energy of the stage.

During the intensive we will explore the slow movements of our style, using the sword in Free Position, Arm Position, as well as balancing it on the head and the hand.

The workshop is open to dancers familiar with the FCBD® Style who have at least basic proficiency with sword work.

What is a Performance Intensive?

A Performance Intensive is a focused dance experience that combines training, creativity, and the excitement of performing on stage. It’s a guided process that takes dancers from preparation to a complete stage piece.

Before the Festival

Depending on the teacher, participants may receive short video material (sequences or technique tips) to study in advance, or they may start everything directly at the festival. Some projects rely on choreography, others on group exploration and improvisation.

During the Festival

Dancers meet in person to shape and refine the piece together, working closely under the teacher’s direction in a supportive and collaborative atmosphere.

Final Performance

The project culminates in a live performance during the Gala Show (Saturday 23) or the Open Stage (Sunday 24)—a shared moment of creativity and celebration.

Support & Communication

Each project has a dedicated Facebook group where participants receive updates, ask questions, and get styling and costume guidelines.
