Throughout history, communities have evolved by gathering, exchanging knowledge and creating together.

Since 2010, Roma Tribal Meeting has brought artists, teachers, dancers and audiences together in Rome to share practices, develop new ideas and strengthen an international community rooted in both tradition and innovation.

The festival is dedicated to transcultural dance forms, including FCBD® Style and Fusion Belly Dance. These practices stand at a creative crossroads, where different movement languages, cultural influences and individual experiences meet and evolve.

We believe that innovation can grow from a deep respect for the cultures and traditions that inspire us. Within our community, individual expression and collective practice give rise to new styles, artistic languages and original creations.

Roma Tribal Meeting was the first festival of its kind in Italy: a space where authenticity, diversity and fusion are understood as opportunities for artistic growth, greater awareness and meaningful exchange.

It is a meeting point where dancers, musicians, teachers and choreographers can share their research, develop collaborations and experience different approaches to movement and performance.

The programme brings together:

• workshops and intensive training;
• opportunities for collective practice;
• performances and work-in-progress presentations;
• exchanges between Italian and international artists;
• spaces for emerging dancers, groups and companies to present their latest creations.

The workshops take place at San Lo’, a dance studio in the heart of Rome created to support multicultural dance, artistic research and international exchange.

During the pandemic, the 2020 and 2021 editions were held online, allowing the community to remain connected across borders. The return to Rome with the Utopia Edition in 2022 marked an important new beginning. It was followed by Dreams in 2023, Dance Is My Language in 2024 and Simplicity in 2026, each confirming the vitality, resilience and creative strength of our community.

Roma Tribal Meeting welcomes transcultural dancers, FCBD® Style dancers and fusion belly dancers of every level of experience.

Whether you are an established artist, a teacher, an emerging performer or someone approaching these dance forms for the first time, you are invited to join us, share your practice and become part of the meeting.
